Steve Furner is a highly experienced company director who has continually served over the last 30 years as a director of various companies within UK listed groups, venture capital backed MBOs and high-growth private companies. Steve has held various Non-Executive positions as a Director, Finance Director and Chairman.

Steve has considerable experience of Mergers & Acquisitions and has completed 20+ acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures. He was involved in negotiating terms and agreements, and managing the deal process. He has been successful in raising finance and negotiating facility terms and has raised more than £50m of equity and debt finance.

Steve has an excellent track record of creating shareholder value for private shareholders including a venture capital firm, and has successfully completed several exits for corporate, venture capital and private shareholders. He has experience of both UK and cross-border deals.

Steve also has experience of managing rapid growth and was Finance Director of a division within a Business Services Group that increased turnover from £9m to £120m over a 7 year period, with commensurate growth in operating profit and cash flow. He is also a ‘hands-on’ Non-Executive director of a Digital Media business which has increased turnover from £5m to £200m during the last 10 years, including the successful acquisition of a major competitor and post-merger integration.

Steve also has experience of improving the company organisation including financial and management information, business controls, procedures and processes.

Steve’s relationship management skills include experience of handling long-term relationships with shareholder groups, major banks and venture capital firms and he has industry experience within various sectors including digital media, online publishing and events, education technology, business software, logistics and business services.

Steve’s international experience includes Continental Europe, the US and Hong Kong.
